In India Alappuzha (Alleppey) is also called “Venice of East”. It is popularly famous for the Houseboats cruises. It is a beautiful destination 100 Kms away from Thekkady. You can take a House boat for overnight and experience Alleppey in a different way in House Boat. Another famous attraction in Alleppey is Alappuzha Lighthouse, which was constructed in the year 1862 and it is very famous tourist spot here.

This famous Lighthouse opens for 1 Hour 30 minutes only from 1300 Hours to 1450 Hours on weekdays.  It is a remarkable attraction in the Arabian Sea of coast of Kerala. Mullakal Temple or Mullakal Rajarajaeswari temple or called Mullakal Bhagwati Temple this temple has no restrictions for anyone & it is open for the people of any religion. Many festivals are celebrated in this temple but the famous is Mullakal Chirappu. It is started in the mid of November and lasts in December end or in the month of January. Many devotes gathered there to celebrate this festival.  Punnamada Lake is a famous lake popular for the boat race. This place is full of crowd during the festival of Onam. Many tourists flock there to see the Boat race which is popularly called Nehru trophy race.

Alleppey Beach is another reason for the travelers to visit there. It is the perfect place to relax and spend day and revel himself in the lap of the nature. It is surrounded by wonderful trees and the Old Light House which makes everything intoxicated. Miramar beach is the most popular beach after Alleppey beach.

It also has a number of tourists around the world throughout the year. This astonishing beach is in the small town of Marikulam and it is 11 Kms away from the Alleppey beach. This beach has clean & safe water and it is a ideal destination for a picnic spot. You can see breathtaking views during sunrise and sunset.
