Munnar is a small hill station in Idduki district. It is also called Kashmir of South India due to its natural beauty. “Munnar” in Tamil munnu means three and aar means river, the three rivers Mudrapuzha, Nallathanni & Kundala together makes Munnar. Munnar is home to the Bengal Tiger, Asian Elephant, and Nilgiri Tahr & Leopard the endangered species of Flora & Fauna. Eravikulam national park is the first National Park in Kerala which is home to these endangered species.

The wondrous aroma of the tea plantation is really amazing you can have a cup of tea from the original tea plantation and you take some tea with you from the magnificent tea gardens.  Munnar is promulgating for its Tea plantation. Tata group had taken over almost Tea gardens.  2 Kms away from Munnar Tea museum which is also popularly known as Tata tea museum is a must visit place in Munnar. Another famous attraction here is Echo Park which is the best picnic spot here one can relax and spend his day in the arms of nature and it is also a best place to click pictures.

Mattupetty dam was constructed in the year 1940 under the Pallivasal hydro electric project it is 13 Kms away from Munnar. It is a wonderful dam surrounded by Tea gardens. If you love trekking you can trek in Shoka forest & if you want to do some adventure activities you have options like speed boating and other water activities which is organized by the Tourism promotion Council of Munnar. Kerala is very beautiful place and have so many valleys; Top station is a mystic place in the valleys of Idduki district. It is 32 Kms away from Munnar and visited by many number of tourists.

It is a tranquil place and it is truly a heaven on earth where you can get calm and have peace of mind. Devikulam Lake, according to Hindu Mythology it is believed that Sita Devi had once bathed here therefore it is also known as Sita Devi Lake.
